Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!! We had a nice dinner at our house. I didn't even have to cook. Barry did the turkey and sweet potatoes. And he assisted Emily and Willy as they made the pies. Barry also did the rolls, cranberry sauce and the relish tray. All I had to do was the stuffing and the mashed potatoes.

Molly is too young to eat solid food, but somehow, we managed to get food on our fingers and into her mouth for a little taste. Not a lot, just a taste. Molly is so small that she is swallowed up by the high chair. She is still basically the size of a newborn, but she sits up like a three month old. Being told she is tiny is one thing. It's another thing entirely to see the evidence with your eyes. So here is my tiny little Thanksgiving dumpling LOL!

The dogs were at the window waiting for their dinner. I had opened the window to let some of the heat out, and they were ready to stick their noses in. I made them a plate with turkey and potatoes, both sweet and regular. They were very, very happy doggies.

We had no obscene rolls and butter this year. It was a pretty tame holiday for us. The worst we could manage was to have the kids making a face with mouth's full of mashed potatoes. This is really nothing compared to years past. I guess it's because my mother and sister didn't join us this year. They, mostly my sister, bring out the worst in me hehehehe.

We even managed to coax Cory out of his room for the meal. It has been a long time since he joined us for dinner. He either eats with his friends, or out, or he comes in after dinner and takes a plate up to his bedroom. Of course, as soon as the meal was over he went back to his room. But for a few shining minutes, he was a member of the family. We will probably have the pleasure of his company at Christmas also, and then we will have to wait for another year to see him again. Ah, the joy of teens!

So Happy Thanksgiving from my family to you and yours. I hope you ate all you wanted, didn't give a flying flip about calories, had lots of pie and shared in the pleasure of family around you. Even if only in your hearts!
